From time to time, things happen here that need explaining. Design updates… errors that need fixing… or our need for ice cream. These will all be found under Administrative Messages… or at the local Dairy Queen.
Saints Row the Third. I’m having a hard time coming up with a short summary of how I feel about it. Having played through the first and skipping the second, picking up the third game was a fringe decision. I guess I’m glad I bought it… the game is crazy on a level I’ve never experienced before, and despite the outrageous story, gameplay, and setting, it doesn’t take itself seriously at all. Perhaps it is this “throwing gaming caution to the wind” attitude that makes it a huge winner in my book.
Happy Saturday, everyone, and welcome to the first edition of the Channel Hide: Weekend Update! I will be trying to do a nice little wrap up here every Saturday evening, highlighting some of the past week’s events and previewing some of the great things to come. This issue will be a bit light, I’m sure (we are still celebrating our launch) but in the future I hope these posts will allow you to catch up with some of the things going on in the lives of the Channel Crew.
Redesigned yearly since 2008
In the past three years, I have redesigned Channel Hide no less than three times. During these years, I constantly found myself improving my skills in design, and now that I’ve entered the workforce for said skills, I decided that I needed to take my personal projects to the next level.
Simply put: this isn’t your pre-graduate’s Channel Hide.
Seriously, I’ve gotten no less than a dozen emails this week asking If I was going to review the new Assassin’s Creed game. You win. I’ll review it.
I liked the first two. A lot. I was a big fan of Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia series too… so when the first Assassin’s Creed was set up to be a more free-roaming version of the Prince’s escapades, I was already sold on the idea. Little did I know that the Assassin’s Creed series would become one of the best crafted stories in the last decade. And you all know how much of a sucker I am for a good story…
Anyway, I’m picking up the game on my way home from work today. I’ll try my best to get a review up next week sometime, after I, well… you know, play it and what not. So please, stop emailing me.
